Staten Island Stages, LLC, an assignee of Broadway Stages, Ltd. is comprised of a 65 plus-acre property that is being developed to be a full-service studio production facility offering ample space for film, television and music video productions of all sizes. The campus includes the former Arthur Kill correctional facility located in the Charleston section of Staten Island, that once housed more than 900 prisoners. The property consists of more than two dozen buildings and structures including guard towers, cells, a recreation yard, and more.
A number of television and film projects have been shot at the correctional facility at Staten Island Stages due to its authenticity and real “prison feel” including When They See Us, Wu Tang: An American Saga, Oceans 8, Daredevil and Orange is the New Black. Plans are underway to transform the campus with the construction of additional soundstages and other upgrades. With amazing backdrops for interior and exterior filming this 65 plus-acre campus will become a mecca for the production of movies, television shows and music videos in Staten Island.
